Karen McManus Dey

Started in Fashion Merchandising then moved to banking/finance for over 25 years before becoming an Internal Auditor at Union Bank & Trust. Moved to NPPD in 2015.
My husband and I spent many years volunteering at school events, booster club officers etc.
I continue to be active in church activities and was the Treasurer of the Lincoln Diocese Council of Catholic Women (LDCCW) for the past 2 years before becoming the financial secretary.
I am currently the President of the IIA Aksarben Chapter of internal auditors.

I continued to live in Lincoln for a few years then moved to an acreage near Waco, then lived by Gresham before purchasing our acreage in the mid 90’s. I have never lived outside of Nebraska.

I primarily remember all of the friendships. Some I haven’t heard from since graduation. There were also some favorite teachers. Although I didn’t appreciate it at the time, the faith based learning and daily mass.

I obtained a degree in Fashion Merchandising and realized after a few years in retail it was not where I wanted to be. I moved to banking for the “banker’s hours” never knowing I would spend the majority of my career in some role from teller, branch supervisor, loan officer and then audit. I received my second degree in my 40s to become an auditor and went on to receive several certifications. I never thought I would be in the job I’m in today.

Probably Nebraska as that is where the majority of our kids and grandkids are; but I would love to travel more.
